Dr. Rehan Haidry
Rehan Haidry is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist at University College Hospital, London, one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals. He has expertise in general gastroenterology and hepatology.
He trained at St Mary’s Hospital, London and completed his gastroenterology training in North East London. He then undertook a prestigious 2-year research fellowship at UCLH, examining novel diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic techniques in the upper gastrointestinal tract, including endoscopic treatment of early cancers. He has a particular interest in managing and treating patients with acid reflux symptoms and also Barrett’s Esophagus.
Dr. Haidry has ongoing clinical research commitments in the Division of Surgery & Interventional Science at UCL. His research interests are focused on the development of new methods for detecting and treating dysplasia (early cancer) in Barrett’s Esophagus and other pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract. He is involved in coordinating Europe’s largest patient registry, the UK HALO radiofrequency ablation registry which collects nationwide outcomes of this exciting new intervention in patients with early cancer of the esophagus.

Prof. Raf Bisschops
Raf
Bisschops obtained his medical degree in 1997, a PhD degree and certification in gastroenterology in 2005 at the University of Leuven. He is head of clinic and associate professor at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), faculty of medicine. He is director of endoscopy since 2013. His main interest is advanced endoscopic imaging and therapeutics for premalignant conditions (Barrett, HNPCC, colitis), artificial intelligence and quality in endoscopy. He was co-editor of the journal Endoscopy between 2011 and 2020. He was the president of the Belgian Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy between 2019-2021. Within the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, he is currently the Secretary General, and served as chairman of the ESGE quality committee and chairman of the ESGE curriculum working group.

Dr. Jose Miguel Esteban
J.M. Esteban López-Jamar graduated from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) with a degree in Medicine. He then undertook postgraduate clinical work in Madrid at the Hospital Clinico San Carlos, where he received training in Gastroenterology. He completed his PhD Thesis at the UCM. This thesis obtained the “UCM Extraordinary Mention”.
After completing his residency he moved to the Gastroenterology department of the Hospital Mancha Centro in Alcazar de San Juan (Ciudad Real, Spain) in 2002. Since March 2003 he has been working at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in the Endoscopy Unit, and became the Head of the Endoscopy Unit in October 2008. He attended the AMC (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) in 2004 to improve his skills in EUS, and at the Paoli Calmettes Institute (Marseille, France) in 2006 with Marc Giovannini to improve performance of Interventional EUS.
Dr. Esteban has been part of the “BEST Academia” (Barrett’s EndoScopic Training, former RFA Academia) as an external speaker between 2011 and 2015. He is also the Head of the Endoscopy Unit at the Hospital Ruber Internacional since 2010. Member of the Sociedad Española de Patología Digestiva (SEPD), Sociedad Española de Endoscopia Digestiva (SEED) and European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). Honorary 2.
Member of the Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Gastroenterología. He authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, which have appeared in key general medicine journals, in addition to others published in Spanish Journals. He is the author of 15 chapters in books related to gastroenterology. He has presented more than 120 papers in national and international conferences, and has been invited to give more than 100 conferences in Spain and 33 in other countries as an invited keynote speaker.

Prof. Max Barret
Max Barret is a French gastroenterologist at the Cochin Hospital (Assistance Publique – Hopitaux de Paris) and teaches Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at the Université Paris-Cité.
Max was trained in gastroenterology, esophagology, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy at the Georges Pompidou European Hospital, Academic Medical Center from Amsterdam, and Cochin Hospital, and was appointed full professor in 2020.
His clinical activity encompasses all the domains of esophagology, from the management of patients with precancerous states or early neoplasia, esophageal strictures, chronic esophageal diseases (among which eosinophilic esophagitis), esophageal motility disorders, and gastro-intestinal reflux disease. He conducted translational research works in animal models on the mechanisms of esophageal wound healing and post endoscopic stricture prevention. His clinical research focuses on Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer, particularly organ preservation strategies for early esophageal neoplasia.
